Clark County, Nevada Inmate Search

An inmate search is available to individuals who need to find out if a person of interest is being held at a county or state correctional facility. The inmate search tool is generally public and is mainly administered by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). A typical Clark County, Nevada inmate search produces results such as: inmate’s name, inmate’s ID number, arrest date, current custody status, nature of charges filed, and the housing location facility.

There is a separate inmate search tool for individuals serving state prison sentences, and it is managed by the Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC). However, inmates in Federal holding can be located via the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) inmate locator.

Unlike most cities in Clark County, Nevada, Las Vegas and Henderson (the most populous cities in Clark County) run and manage their own separate custody roster. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is the police force in the Las Vegas area and is in charge of the Clark County Detention Center. The facility maintains its own separate inmate roster, which can be found through the City of Las Vegas Inmate Search portal.

On the other hand, Henderson maintains a public Inmate Information portal, which is administered by the Henderson Police Department.

How to Find an Inmate in Clark County Jail

The Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) is the primary county jail in Clark County, Nevada. It serves as the main holding facility for individuals arrested on felony charges or misdemeanor offenses in unincorporated parts of Clark County.

The CCDC is located at:

Clark County Detention Center

330 South Casino Center Boulevard,

Las Vegas, NV 89101, in downtown Las Vegas

Phone: (702) 671-3900

The facility operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s administrative offices for the CCDC also maintain a dedicated contact email at ccdc@lvmpd.com.

The public can search for inmates currently housed at CCDC using the official Clark County Inmate Search tool. This online tool is updated periodically throughout the day. According to the official website, most individuals arrested by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are taken to either the Las Vegas City Jail or the Clark County Detention Center, depending on the jurisdiction in which the crime occurred.

Note: Inmates held under protective custody will not appear in online search results. For those cases, contacting the CCDC information line directly is the most reliable approach.

How to Use the Clark County Jail Roster

Using the Clark County jail roster is straightforward. The official CCDC Inmate Search page provides a simple form-based interface for searching current in-custody information. Here is a step-by-step guide to using it:

  1. Navigate to the Clark County Detention Center inmate search page on the official Clark County government website.
  2. In the search form, enter at least the first two letters of the inmate’s last name, their inmate ID number, or a Justice Court Case Number. The system recommends entering more than two letters to narrow the results.
  3. Click "Submit" to search.
  4. Once a matching name appears in the results, click "Find w/ ID" or "Find w/ Case No" to view the inmate’s full in-custody status.
  5. Review the displayed information, which may include charges, arrest date, inmate ID, and housing unit.

If the desired information is not available online, for example, if the inmate is under protective custody or has not yet been fully processed, searchers should call the CCDC information line at (702) 671-3900 for the most up-to-date details. The tool is available online 24 hours a day.

How to Send Money to an Inmate in the Clark County Detention Center?

Trust accounts are created for every inmate in the Clark County Detention Center, where funds are sent and held on their behalf. These funds are used by inmates to purchase items at the institution’s commissary. Items like clothing, postage, snacks, hygiene products, and other facility-approved items. In the Clark County Detention Center, commissary items are delivered once or twice a week.

Sending money into an inmate’s account can be done in several ways. Firstly, it can be done online or over the phone via TouchPay, the detention center’s vendor. Credit and debit cards are accepted, and service fees apply as well. This is considered the fastest means because transactions typically take about 15 minutes. However, there is a possibility that the transaction takes longer, up to 24 hours.

Money can be sent through a self-service TouchPay kiosk that is available in the Clark County Detention Center lobby. Inmates can also send money via mail or money orders. Money orders must be made payable to "CCDC Inmate Trust Account" with the inmate’s full name and ID number written on the memo line. Mail to:

Inmate Name - Inmate ID Number,

Clark County Detention Center,

PO Box 43059, Las Vegas, NV 89116

However, a few things are worth noting before sending money to inmates. Deposits cannot be refunded. Never send cash through the mail. Foreign bank checks and personal checks are also not accepted. For account-related questions, contact Inmate Account Services at:

Inmate Search by Jail Facility

While the Clark County Detention Center’s online roster is the primary search tool for the county, other detention facilities in the region maintain separate custody databases or contact channels. To find the right record, it helps if you can already identify the arresting agency and jurisdiction. For example, individuals arrested by LVMPD may be taken to CCDC or the City of Las Vegas Detention Center, while those arrested by the Henderson Police Department are typically booked at Henderson’s facility.

Clark County Visitation Rules and Schedules

Visitations at Clark County Detention Center require registration and scheduling in advance. The facility also offers both on-site and remote video visits from home. Visitors can register for visitation online at any time through the visitation website. They can also register in person at the facility, available from 8 am to 10:30 pm every day. After registering either online or on-site, all visits would be scheduled via the visitation website.

There are general rules and eligibility regulations that apply to visitors. Eligible visitors are those who have been registered and approved by the facility, such as family members, friends, and legal representatives. Also, the inmate to be visited must have been in custody for at least 72 hours before they can be visited.

Visiting privileges are given based on behavior and housing assignment. Therefore, well-behaved inmates are allowed a 25-minute visit twice per week. Also, visitations are not allowed during inmate meal times, lockdowns, or during inmate counts.

Furthermore, visitors’ dress is taken seriously. Indecent dressing can deny entry. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Video visits have strict guidelines as well. Some violations, like nudity, live streaming, or driving during a visit, would immediately terminate the video visit.
